“My family of two kids and two parents became homeless when I lost my job in 2016. The harsh truth about this is you lose everything when you become homeless. After many hard months of couch hopping to staying in a van and then a cabin tent at the Last resort campground for two weeks, we thankfully found affordable housing before our limit of three weeks at the campground was up. We had nothing when we moved in. Word got around through organizations here in town that my family had entered transitional housing and needed beds for their children. I got a call the first night we were in our home from Annett, so calmly letting us know that she was here for us. She asked if I had a moment to talk about the kind of services she could help us with. I sat in my vehicle in shock about the things she was telling me because I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. She was so heartfelt so caring and gentle in her voice that I knew I had an angel sent to my family. She explained that she prepares care packages and wants to ask me a series of questions, and all I must do is answer yes or no. Let me show you the things I said yes to…

Annett has stuck by our family since 2017, when no other support agencies could help during that time. My children talk about her all the time, asking when she will be back next. I had many oddball jobs for four years until Oliver was able to pass security clearance for a 5-year contract as a help desk technician position that started in May of 2022. Annett knew we had it in us to become self-efficient and successfully meet our goals and dreams. She hung on to us and gave us hope every step of the way. She was there every thanksgiving and Christmas between the years 2017-2021. I have had support with transportation for emergency donations because I didn’t have transportation to pick up the items myself. I can not express how much love she has in her heart. The hope she brings to not only my family but friends that I have referred to her is life-changing. Everyone has cherished her help, and the smiles on their faces are worth a lifetime. I suggest that if you ever cross her path that you take a moment to stop and talk with her. I promise you will not regret it. Thank you, Hope Heals. You have taught us so much along the way and kept our spirits high and hope alive.” ~ Stephanie and Oliver
